Life changes. Emotions change. Hopes and fears change. And we live through it all. Sometimes it can be helpful to have someone accompanying us through the changes, so that we can learn and grow from them.

I support people who are willing to try forming a new relationship with life and what it brings. Perhaps that’s a new perspective or new ways of going about life. We’ll discover the way together – your way – based on your life experiences and inner wisdom and strength.

And along the way, we’ll look at how to be more compassionate with yourself.

This process can be initially scary and challenging. Looking honestly at ourselves and life certainly can be! But we’ll support you with some new skills and building a judgment-free presence – both in the therapy room and within yourself.  With support, confidence can grow, and so can hope that changes that are possible.

Learning new ways to be with life, as it is; forming new relationships with life and our selves – I’ve discovered that people also grow a greater sense of well-being, balance, empowerment, and wholeness.

Couples/Relationship Therapy: I also work with couples who wish to deepen their relationship, to be more present with one another, and to communicate more effectively. Whether or not you are experiencing challenges in your relationship, there is always room to grow intimacy – which not only may bring more joy and fulfillment in your relationship, it may also build skills and a sense of unconditional connection that can help to prevent or ameliorate the effects of challenges or misunderstandings in the future.

Challenges: My clients tend to be experiencing challenges with: anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem, sexual orientation, gender identity, transitioning, relationships, communication, grief/loss, being highly sensitive, and adapting to change.

Modalities: I share with clients mindfulness, Gestalt Therapy, relational therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), existential perspective, social justice perspective, and a strengths-based approach.

Philosophy: Mindfulness helps us be more present with our challenges. Gestalt Therapy helps us explore the moment – together.  My approach supports growth of trust and safe space for self-exploration. My approach is truly integrative, working with awareness of mind, heart, body, and spirit. My work is informed by: 20+ years of LGBT and women’s rights work; 3+ years as a behavioral health consultant in an integrative care model (in a public health center); being a yoga and mindfulness teacher; ordination as an Interfaith minister; and a social work masters.

Rates: Because of my commitment to social justice, a sliding scale is available along with a variety of insurance options, including Medicaid for Philadelphia County. The rate for a 60-minute session is $180.
